Recently, the outdoor activity of “family camping” has become more and more popular, and there are more and more new friends who have just entered the camping ranks.
Many novice campers will ask:
- There are so many types of camping equipment, don’t know which equipment to buy?
- I want to camp, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money in the first place. Which equipment should I buy first?
- Not sure what to bring when tidying up the dew equipment? Not sure what the necessities are?

Let me help you organize a “camping equipment list”!
I will list 49 pieces of camping equipment and attach a brief description to let everyone know more about this equipment and its importance. For everyone to think about whether they should buy first. (⭐I will also mark the necessary equipment)
Tent/Living Room
- Tent: ⭐Required! There is not one of the most important equipment! An outdoor fortress in nature so chooses carefully! There are many types. At first, you can use a simple “sleeping account” as the entry account and then upgrade to a “one bedroom, one living room” villa account.
- Living room account: ⭐Required! There are also many types of spaces for main leisure activities. Most of the camping time is spent here, chatting, playing games, cooking… etc.
- Sky Screen: ⭐Required! It can be used as a living room tent, or it can be placed on top of the tent to help the tent shade and keep out the rain.
(Note: The function of the living room tent is very similar to that of the large sky screen, you can choose one of the two.)
General recommendations: Winter = use living room tents to keep warm, summer = use a large sky screen for more ventilation
Advantages of the big canopy: There are many variations in the method of construction (for use with camp pillars). I think the space is very large. The 5m*8m can even be placed on four tables, so we usually use the big canopy when we are in large groups. You can gather together and play together.
However, when it is cold and rainy, we tend to carry the living room tent, which is connected to the tent. The living room tent is strengthened by the side cloth, which is windproof and rainproof.
- Moisture-proof mat: also called “floor cloth”, laid under the outside of the tent to isolate the moisture on the ground and protect the bottom cloth of the tent. It’s not that the bigger the better, try to find it as big as the tent.
One bedroom and one living room account, which can make sleeping account + living room account in place at one time

Living Room/Kitchen Utensils
- Mobile Kitchen: The mobile desk for outdoor camping is the main tabletop for cooking.
- Camping chair: ⭐Required! Most of the camping time will be sitting, how can you not choose a good chair?
- Folding table/egg roll table: ⭐Required! It is a camping table, which is mainly used when camping.
Because it is “family camping” or “car camping”, both of which drive directly to the camp area, so I don’t care much about “weight” but “stability”.
- Mobile refrigerator + refrigerant: ⭐Required! On the way up the mountain, the freshness of the ingredients depends on it. Usually, when you arrive at the camp, the ingredients will be iced into the refrigerator in the camp.
There are “ice buckets” and “refrigerators”. The ice bucket just keeps ice, while the refrigerator can make ice (but it needs electricity). Special attention should be paid to the size of the refrigerator because it is a hard shell and should not occupy too much space, otherwise, it will be difficult to store it in the car.
- Three-layer frame: We will use it to put speakers or some sundries that cannot be used temporarily.
- Cassette furnace: ⭐Required! Unless you don’t cook, you must need it.
- Electric fan: ⭐A must in summer! Camping in summer can sometimes be really hot, especially when there is no natural wind. Since you want to enjoy camping comfortably, buying an electric fan is worth the investment~ A wireless charging fan is especially good!
- Burning Fire Station: It is very useful in winter! In addition to warming the surroundings, the fire can also keep the tent from getting too humid. (The camping fire is very fu~~~)
Cooking Utensils
- Quick boiling pot: ⭐A must in winter! You can also bring a kettle, hot water can bubble noodles, make tea, and make coffee~~
※Note: Because the quick-cooking pot is more powerful, it must be used in accordance with the regulations of each camp.
- Lek bowl basket: ⭐Required! It is recommended to buy and place a basket for pots and pans, otherwise, there is no place to put the washed dishes! It can be used with pigtails and hung on camp poles.
- Cooking scissors: ⭐Required! Scissors are easy to use! In addition to cooking, it can also be used to open some food packaging, and it can even be used as a bottle opener.
- Knife/cutting board: You can bring a knife at home, but you must have a “protective cover”, which is safer.
You can also buy special camping, cutting board + knife storage together, convenient and safe!
- Seasoning: What seasonings are needed for camping cooking, just take them! You can buy the condiment jar storage set and organize it like this
- Kettle: usually we will bring it. The most commonly used is when sleeping, you can bring it into the sleeping tent, and drink thirstily in the middle of the night~
- Water Cup/Mug: Similarly, it is not easy to break. It can be stacked for better storage. It is best to have a “handle” or “ear” for easy hanging.
- Bowl/plate: Look for something that is not easy to break, or you can choose a wooden one if you can stack it for storage.
- Pot: ⭐Required! Pan, soup pot…all need it. You can also bring it home, but it’s best to have a camping set.
Lighting Fixtures
There are many types of lamps and lanterns, here are classified by “purpose”:
- Main lighting fixtures: ⭐Required! For the main lighting in the living room area, some people like to use LED light strips, and some people prefer to use N9, each has its own advantages. I myself like to use light string recently, the brightness is low, but it is beautiful~❤
It is recommended to choose the dimmable type, which rotates to adjust the brightness so that whether it is playing games or playing romance is ok
- Chandelier in the sleeping tent: ⭐Required! I don’t want the tent to be completely dark as soon as I enter the night, it’s not enough to light it up with my phone!
- Dishwashing chandeliers: Because the sinks in the camping area are often not illuminated, it is inconvenient to wash dishes at night. So we will prepare a “rechargeable chandelier” that can be hung near the sink, and the dishes will be cleaner!
- Flashlight: It is often used, and you can also use the flashlight of your mobile phone
- Headlights: Although it is not mountain climbing, if you like to rush after getting off work on Fridays and nights as we do, I believe that you often get in the dark, you can understand the importance of headlights. They are usually kept in the car before they can get off the car handsomely.
Tent Appliances
- Sleeping bag/quilt: ⭐Required! Sleeping bags have a lot of knowledge, and the price difference is also great. I have the opportunity to help you sort out the key points and recommendations!
- Inflatable mattress/single sleeping pad: ⭐Required! Choosing a good mattress can be said to be the only guarantee for the quality of sleep
- Moisture-proof floor mats: The floor mats used in the tent can increase warmth and moisture resistance. Some people will lay a nice carpet~
- Inflator: It is used to inflate the air mattress, if there is no air mattress, it is not needed. Wired ones will be cheaper. We usually only bring one account in turn.
- Sleeping pillow: Unless you recognize a pillow, prepare an inflatable one! When I first showed it, I brought them home. I couldn’t hold the quilt, pillow, or anything else.
- Electric blanket: a push in winter! I am personally very afraid of the cold. I will take it to camp in winter, especially in the cold, and it’s really warm and comfortable to sleep in.
※Note: When using it, remember to pay attention to the power of the camp, so as not to affect other people’s electricity use!
- Toiletries: Many camping areas do not provide shower gel and shampoo. I always bring a pack of “travel toiletry bags”, which contains shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, and teeth. Wire rod… etc.
- Charger: personal charger for 3C products

Others
- RV bucket: There is almost one person, put some important small things in it, and you can carry it and leave when you organize your equipment before you go. Can sit and step on, and waterproof, easy to use
- Camp nail: ⭐Required! The camp nails that come with the tent are usually very bad, it is recommended to buy them separately.
※Personally think that 26cm~30cm big black nails are the most widely used.
- Camp Mallet: ⭐Required! It is recommended that there is a nail puller function, no rubber mallet
- Pigtails: Pigtails are really recommended. They are not expensive but easy to use. There are 3 in my treasure box. They can be used for hanging baskets and camping lights. It is very convenient. The disadvantage is that it’s a bit ugly…
- Wind-proof sheet: to protect the gas stove from the wind, it is seldom used, but it is still recommended to prepare
- Frog light: ⭐Required! Small things but very important. Warning lights hung on the camp rope at night to prevent tripping over the camp rope, especially if there are children.
- Extension cord: ⭐Required! All electricity depends on this one. It must be a “power extension cable”. The length is recommended to be at least 10 meters or more. The longer the cable, the safer it is.
- Garbage bag: Collect garbage, and then take it to the garbage collection center of the camp to throw it away. Remember to classify! Some people will bring “big black garbage bags” in addition to holding garbage, they are also very useful for collecting wet tents.
- Garbage rack: After having a garbage bag, how to fix the garbage bag is a problem. The garbage rack is very convenient, and it can be folded and easy to carry!!
- First aid kit: Put some simple medicines, bandages, and ok jumps. It is actually quite important, but we have not brought them… Once a friend cut vegetables and cut vegetables, really panic…
- Tent repair tools: some people will prepare them for emergencies
- Spare camp ropes: There may be camp ropes on the tents, but they still need spare camp ropes. It will be used to strengthen the tent structure, erect a canopy, etc.
It is divided into thickness and material. The current experience is that the thickness of 5mm is ok. The color is bright orange. Green is easy to be invisible.
- Spare battery: The lamp or flashlight in the tent can be used as a spare at night, if it is rechargeable, it is free
- Instant noodles/tea bags/coffee: Anything that can be brewed to eat or drink. Recently, a friend has become obsessed with hand-made coffee. Can imagine my camp area being awakened by the smell of coffee in the morning
- Whirlwind ball/board game/children’s toys: all things suitable for passing the time, or any toy that allows children to discharge~~
